Synthesis of TiO2 Powder Doped with Rare Earth Elements by Sol-Gel Method and Its Gas Sensing Properties

摘要: 采用溶胶-凝胶法制备了TiO2粉末和掺杂不同稀土离子的TiO2粉末,并通过XRD对制备的样品结构进行了表征,结果表明,制备的TiO2粉末为锐钛矿结构;稀土离子的掺杂抑制了TiO2晶粒生长. 其次通过气敏测试仪测试所制备的样品对甲醛、甲苯和丙酮的气敏性,结果表明,掺杂铈的TiO2(TiO2:Ce)对3种气体均具有较高的灵敏性和选择性,可能是由于Ce的掺杂增强了TiO2表面对氧的吸附能力所致. 通过TEM分析TiO2:Ce粉末的形貌为粒径约5~12 nm的颗粒.

Abstract: TiO2 and TiO2 powders doped with different rare earth ions were prepared by sol-gel method, and their structures characterized by XRD. The results indicate that the prepared TiO2 powder has anatase structure, and rare earth ion doping can restrain the growth of TiO2 crystals. Moreover, its gas sensing properties towards formaldehyde, toluene and acetone gases were measured by a gas sensing instrument. The results show that the TiO2 doped with Ce (TiO2:Ce) exhibits better sensitivity and selectivity towards those gases, which may be attributed to the enhanced capability of adsorbed oxygen on the surface of Ce-doped TiO2. TEM analysis shows that the morphology of TiO2:Ce powder is particles with the diameters of 5~12 nm.
