    Journal Introduction

The Chinese Journal of Process Engineering (monthly), founded in 1976, was originally named Journal of Chemical Metallurgy and renamed to its current title in 2001. Sponsored by the Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences (formerly known as the Institute of Chemical Metallurgy) and supervised by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the journal is an academic publication publicly distributed at home and abroad, published by China Science Publishing & Media Ltd. (Science Press).

As a core journal of Peking University’s Chinese Core Journals and a Chinese Science and Technology Core Journal, the academic papers published in The Chinese Journal of Process Engineering are indexed by major domestic and international databases, including Peking University Chinese Core Journals Overview, Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD), Chinese Science and Technology Papers and Citations Database (CSTPCD), CNKI, Chemical Abstracts Service (CA, USA), Elsevier Scopus, Abstract Journal (Russia), and Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) Database. It has also been successfully selected as one of the "5th China’s Premium Science and Technology Journals".

Focusing on process engineering science, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary research and frontier issues in process engineering, The Chinese Journal of Process Engineering primarily publishes original and innovative papers addressing common problems in process engineering across fields such as materials, chemical engineering, biology, energy, metallurgy, petroleum, food, medicine, agriculture, resources, and environmental protection. The scope of the journal covers the flow, mass transfer, reaction and their interrelationships in material transformation processes, as well as theories and methods related to unique technologies, equipment, processes for material transformation, and their industrialization-oriented design, scaling-up, and regulation.

The main columns of the journal include: Reviews, Research Papers, Frontier Hotspots, Interviews, Comments, and Perspectives. Its covered themes involve: Flow and Transfer, Reaction and Separation, Materials Engineering, Processes and Technologies, Environment and Energy, Biochemical Engineering, and Process System Integration & Chemical Safety.
