Experimental Study on Separation Performance of a Combined System of Circulation Pre-stripper and Vortex Quick Separator

Abstract:In order to achieve the excellent performance of novel vortex quick separator and dense phase circulation pre-stripper, a novel combined system of circulation pre-stripper and vortex quick separator (CVQS) was established. The separation characteristics of CVQS were studied via a large-scale cold model. Moreover, the separation efficiency and pressure drop of vortex quick separator at different operating conditions were analyzed. The results show that the novel system with excellent operational flexibility and stability can separate gas and solid efficiently, its separation efficiency reaches above 98.5%, the maximum efficiency is 99.93%, and the pressure drop of vortex quick separator is reasonably distributed. Then, empirical formulae for estimating the separation efficiency and pressure drop are set up based on the experimental data, the computed and experimental results are in good agreement.
