Abstract:A research of a high viscosity liquid flowing inside a wavy plate duct is carried out with a mathematic modeling. The governing equations with their boundary conditions are firstly non-dimensionalized. Then a dimensionless stream function is introduced. By perturbation expanding, an approximate model has been developed. Analytical expressions for stream function, velocity and pressure variations along the duct are obtained. The effects of the amplitude and wavelength of the wavy plate duct on the flow state are discussed. Meanwhile, a preliminary estimation based on analogy theorem of the heat transfer enhancement to the flow friction increase is made.
